Porcelain Crowns and Veneers

All Porcelain Crowns
The purpose of crowns (porcelain or gold) is to give strength to a fractured or compromised tooth.  Crowns made of porcelain are used to replace old fillings, discolored crowns, or for various other cosmetic reasons.  They also provide replacement options for missing teeth in the form of porcelain fused to metal bridges.  Porcelain used today in crowns and bridges can both look great and function well and can last for several years.

Made of porcelain, veneers are bonded to the teeth. While there are both pros and cons to the use of veneers, the reasons for getting them are similar to that of porcelain crowns.

How Porcelain Crowns or Veneers
can make a big difference in your looks.

Crowns and Veneers replace:

  • Discolored teeth: due to root canal treatments, stains from tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride or
other causes; or the presence of large, resin fillings
    that have discolored your teeth
  • Teeth that are worn down
  • Teeth that are chipped or broken
  • Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped (for example, have craters or bulges in them)
  • Teeth with gaps between them (to close the space between these teeth)
